Among these hacked websites, many sites have the suffix of “.gov.vn” and “.edu.vn” and “.com.vn”.
The list provided by Zone-H shows the exact time the foreign hackers accessed ’s websites successfully. In 2006 alone, 235 sites were hacked, the most in any year. In November alone, more than 100 websites were hacked by foreign hackers.
Zone-H’s list includes 40 websites run and developed by government agencies. The 40 websites with “.gov.vn” include portal.mot.gov.vn (the Ministry of Trade), bacninh.gov.vn, namdinh.gov.vn (Bac Ninh and Nam Dinh provincial authorities), ciren.gov.vn (the Ministry of Natural Resources and the Environment), thaibinh.gov.vn (Thai Binh authorities), baotangcm.gov.vn, lamdong.gov.vn, oss.gov.vn (the Ministry of Science and Technology), and the website of the Power Regulatory Administration under the Ministry of Industry.
Unfortunately, many websites with “.vn” were listed several times by Zone-H, which means that they were hacked multiple times.
Most of the hackers who have attacked “.vn” websites are big names from . The list also reveals well-known hackers’ names like "iskorpitx" and "Fatal Error".
Many websites thought to be beyond the reach of foreign hackers are on the list.
